  • Navy blue, grey and white is a chic and classic colour combination that you can’t go wrong with. At the moment I’m also really loving the pairing of blush pink and olive green. - Greg Natale
  • Candles should be selected to suit the season. Heavier, musky-scented candles work well in autumn and winter, whereas fresh, floral-based candles complement sunny days and warmer weather. - Natasha Levak
  • If you love a piece of art, work other things around it. Art and books are important to give a room feeling. - Madeleine Blanchfield
  • Replacing a major item in a living room is one of the best ways to give it an overhaul; a new armchair or rug always does the trick. I’m a huge fan of using a unique armchair to attract the eye. - Nina Maya

Visual Process

What is the process behind creating a visual?

1.Step 1

Research - What is the brand? Who is your client? What colour scheme do they use?

When you research the brand, you are more likely to create better visual and quicker.

2.Step 2

Mood boards, concept.

What is the purpose of the visual? Graphic design /space transformation?

Make sure you check similar projects and create at least 3 mood boards with similar contexts.  Once you find images that explain your idea, it will be much easier to agree on the final concept before it is even ready.

3.Step 3

Options/sketches.

Want to finish your visual faster? Do a hand-sketch of your final idea before you start making a 3d/2d model. The sketch will explain structure, colour scheme, ideas and how it will looked once finished. If they don’t like that create a new concept. It will be much easier than changing the whole 3d model after.

4.Step 4.

Layout.

When you create your visual presentation, make sure it includes all of your research - it should be like a mini portfolio, I even include sketches sometimes - show how your idea developed. It will make your project stronger.
